RTT Module 06
Defensive Riding, Road Conditions & Circuit
Prepare for slopes, weather, cornering, expressways, defensive riding, vulnerable road users, pillions, heavy vehicles, malfunctions, and circuit courses.
Core Ideas
Stay in a controllable situation by noticing hazards early and adjusting speed, space, gear, and posture.
Slopes, rain, wind, low light, cornering, and expressways
Defensive riding, road users, pillions, heavy vehicles, and bus lanes
Malfunctions, accidents, circuit courses, cameras, and courteous riding
Night and low-light riding
Use the correct beam, avoid dazzling others, and do not ride faster than the range you can see and stop within.
Defensive hazard anticipation
Expect blocked views, sudden cyclist or pedestrian movement, and taxis cutting in when passengers hail them.
Pylon slalom course
Circuit tasks test low-speed control, posture, rear-brake control, and hazard-avoidance technique.
Quick Recall Drill
Look far ahead and scan for changing risk.
Slow down before rain, glare, bends, and slopes demand it.
Control first, warning second, diagnosis later.
